Uniform
The wearing of school uniform is encouraged at New Haw. It is an important factor in establishing and maintaining standards of behaviour and pupil presentation and all children are expected to wear it.
School uniform can be purchased through School Uniform Direct, either through their store in West Byfleet ( 1 Park Court, 1 Pyrford Road, West Byfleet KT14 6SD - telephone number: 01932 354409) or online.
Alternatively, some items are available through other retailers, for example Tesco Stores Ltd at https://myclothing.com/ueslink/8092.school?t=1587733199316

- Red shorts and New Haw tee-shirt with school logo
- Trainers for games lessons
- Plain black tracksuit top and bottoms are permitted in cold weather
The items shown in bold can be ordered from our suppliers as detailed above.
No jewellery may be worn during PE lessons. Please do not have your child’s ears pierced during term time, as pierced earrings must be removed before lessons.
School Bags
Due to lack of space in our corridors, we are unable to accommodate rucksacks. Therefore you are requested to buy a small school bag small enough to fit on their coat peg.
Shoes
Please provide ‘sensible’ footwear (shoes or sandals). Platform soles and/or high heels can be dangerous in school and must not be worn. If wellingtons are worn to school in wet weather, children must have other footwear to change into during the day. Trainers may be brought to school for wear during playtime or outdoor games only.
Stationery
We will provide all stationery (pens, pencils, erasers etc) that your child will need in class.
Lost Property
One of our time consuming problems is lost property and we try to match children with their belongings, which are all too often unmarked. Please could you make sure that all your child’s belongings and clothing are clearly marked with their name.
General
Hair - Hair any longer than shoulder length must be tied back for school with plain hair bands only. No hair cut less than Grade 2 is acceptable. This prepares children for the requirements of Secondary School.
For art and craft work in school the children really need some sort of overall. An old shirt put on back to front is excellent for the purpose. We have found the paint to be less washable than the manufacturers claim.
